Help & Guide
Everything you need to get started with NavigaTrack.
Getting Started
1 Create your account
Open the app and click Register.
Choose a username (unique), enter your email, and set a password (at least 8 characters).
2 Create your first trip
From the Dashboard, click New Trip.
- Code: a short unique name (e.g. TOSCANA2024)
- Description: what this trip is about
- Map type: OpenStreetMap or Topographic
3 Add your first waypoint
Open the trip and choose one of three methods to add a point:
Adding Waypoints
Manual coordinates
Enter latitude and longitude directly. Great when you have exact GPS coordinates.
Geolocation (GPS)
Use your phone's GPS to save your current position. Works best outdoors.
Upload a photo
Upload a photo taken with GPS enabled. NavigaTrack reads the location and time from the image automatically.
Tip: Every waypoint can be edited or deleted later from the trip detail page.
Viewing Maps
Open any trip to see an interactive map with your route drawn automatically.
- Zoom: scroll wheel on desktop, pinch on mobile
- Pan: click and drag (desktop) or swipe (mobile)
- Details: tap a marker to see the note, date, and a link to Google Maps
You can switch between street view and topographic view using the layer control on the map.
Notifications
NavigaTrack can send email notifications every time a new waypoint is added to a trip. There are two ways to set this up:
Trip owner: add notifiers directly
- Open your trip and click Notifications
- Click Add Notifier
- Enter the email address to notify
- Click Save — the email is active immediately (no verification needed)
Visitors: subscribe to a trip
- Open the public trip page (shared link)
- Click Subscribe and enter your email
- Check your inbox and click the verification link
- Done — you'll receive an email each time a new waypoint is added
Unsubscribe: Every notification email includes an unsubscribe link. Click it to stop receiving notifications for that trip.
Trip Analytics
Every shared trip has a built-in analytics dashboard that shows who's been viewing it.
To access it, open your trip and click Analytics.
